Hello everyone, First of all, I want to say that I have almost no knowledge of shotguns (or any type of guns, for that matter). I have inherited three Victor Sarasqueta SxS shotguns from my father and would like to know a little more about them. Are they sidelock or boxlock? What is their value? Do they have an interesting history?

Here is the information I have gathered by inspecting the guns: Gun #1 (serial number 218998) - As you can see on the first picture, we can read 900 kgs, R1 (this means a 1973 model, right?), 12 70, 1380, GMOS, BP and CH. - The number under the barrels is 3005. - The tag indicates a model 203 EXP. Gun #2 (serial number 218865) - Very similar than the Gun #1, but cleaner. - Small differences that I can see are the number under the barrels (2997) and the yellow tag, which is missing on Gun #1.

- The tag indicates a model 203 EXP Gun #3 (serial number 214268) - Very similar than Gun #2, except for the number under the barrels (2772) - The tag indicates a model 6E So there it is. If anyones has questions or need more info in order to help me, please don't hesitate! Thank you all for your time and knowledge. They look like 7 pin sidelocks, considered the 'best' action.

What is the date of this gun Victor Sarasqueta, Eibar, Spain. I am afraid that there is no such number or letter. We are talking about an old Sarasqueta from the 1960´. On the barrels the size/choke 17,9 and 18,4. Also the nukmber 1460 G yos. Dec 10, 2011 - My 32nd Edition Blue Book only shows Model Numbers for Victor Sarasqueta shotguns. Can you find anything at all on it indicating a Model No.

(I bought a 5 pin sidelock because it uses coil, not leaf springs and is much more easily repaired) Year codes are in my recent post. For example R*1 is 1973. The kg number is the proof pressure. The grm, gmos or grams is the barrel weight.

The Spanish made shotguns in several weights depending on the type of shooting, heavy for trap, to light for upland rough shooting. It mostly affects durability. I'm not sure what the weight ranges are and it does vary with length but 1600 grams is heavy and 1200 pretty light for a 12 ga. Call of duty ghosts pc download. If you aren't shooting thousands of shells then a light weight is OK. On VS shotguns a plain model number indicate extractors, a number with an E, like 203E, indicates auto ejectors.

I'm not sure what the EXP means except the importer may have thought that E stood for Express. The 6E is a somewhat higher grade than the 203E. The top grades like the 12E cost roughly 3 times as much, depending on condition of course, and will have very fancy wood and elaborate engraving. Victor Sarasqueta made the best quality guns, very reliable and considered by some to be the best Spanish shotguns. They went out of business in 1986, sold the name to DiArms.

Felix Sarasqueta made the cheapest, and JJ Sarasqueta a fairly wide range but not quite up to VS quality. Neither should be compared to VS.
